I interpretted that as a metaphor: reality being a blank sphere, ready for our interpretation and what we make of it; imagination depicted as one person on the ground watching another soar, impossibility challenged and taken personally, invention and dreams. God I love being a nerd, and I truly mean that.
I'm the author of more than twenty books, including novels, short story collections and a film monograph. My latest novel is Beyond the Burn Line.
